Check the address and the production claim.
This note is for a buyer asking whether a supplier’s registered address is the same as the factory location presented in a quotation, video tour or marketplace profile. It does not investigate a specific company or site.
Keep the two address questions separate
China’s registration rules list the residence or principal place of business as a registration item. The licence must show the address field for that entity type.
The claimed factory site is different: it is a supplier statement about where relevant production may happen. A registered address by itself does not prove that the company owns, controls or is currently using the claimed factory site. It also does not prove that the order will be made there.
An address difference does not prove fraud. An address match does not prove factory capability. Preserve the two facts, the source and the query date before asking for an explanation.
Record the official registered address first
Use the supplier’s exact Chinese legal name or Unified Social Credit Code in the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System. Record the displayed address exactly, along with the legal name, unified code, query date and the source URL.
The system displays information from market authorities, other departments and market entities. Keep the displayed result and query date.

Ask which named site will make your order
Request the claimed site’s full Chinese address, the relationship between that site and the contracting company, the relevant processes and whether any step is outsourced. Keep the reply, date and contact channel with the registered-record snapshot.
Ask for documents that support the stated branch, lease, affiliate or subcontractor relationship. Check that they cover the site and processes relevant to your order.

MEASURED / BRANCH RECORDS
Eight of 45 queries returned branch records
A branch record can give you another registered operation to examine. It does not, by itself, count a company’s addresses or identify the site making your order.
Queries on 21–22 August 2026 covered 45 selected company codes from a 106-name China-labelled trailer frame in NHTSA data. One commercial source returned branch records for eight codes and none for 37. Code selection did not independently verify identity.

No returned branch record does not prove that a company has only one address. Nor does a branch record prove that the branch operates a factory. Compare the full addresses and ask for evidence about the site proposed for your order.
Keep the company, branch and claimed site as separate entries until their relationship is supported. The 45-code selection notes explain how this sample was selected; its counts do not describe all Chinese suppliers.
