The questions you ask before paying a stranger, answered in one place.
Everything below is either a commitment already written into the terms recorded against your order, or behaviour the service actually enforces. Two questions we cannot answer yet are listed at the bottom rather than left for you to discover after paying.
BEFORE YOU PAY / 01
What you are buying, and on whose word.
What exactly am I buying?
A report built from lines you choose. Each delivered line states which source it came from and the date it was queried, so you can tell a fact from an inference and see how fresh it is. The free tier returns a registry snapshot; paid tiers add records; the on-site tier is quoted separately per man-day.
Prices are shown before you order, recalculated on the order-review page and again on our server — the server calculation is the authoritative one. The current menu and prices are on the supplier report page.
What happens if the source is unavailable?
That line is cancelled and refunded. We do not silently substitute a different source to fill the gap. This is clause 1 of the service terms, not a goodwill gesture.
Every line is retrieved from a licensed Chinese business-information platform that republishes official records. We do not query, proxy, cache or scrape the official portals ourselves, and we do not bypass their access controls — which is precisely why a buyer outside China cannot simply do this themselves from a browser.
When do I get it, and what if you are late?
Within 72 hours of payment confirmation unless your order confirmation states otherwise. Where automated fulfilment applies it is usually much sooner; if that path fails the order falls back to the same 72-hour manual window and you are told.
If we miss the agreed window you may cancel the affected lines and receive a full refund of those lines — in addition to, not instead of, your rights under the consumer law that applies to you.
Can I get a refund?
Before payment, or before fulfilment starts: cancel at no charge. After fulfilment starts, for a cancellation unrelated to a service failure we may retain only the reasonable, documented value of conforming work already done and source-query costs already incurred, and refund the balance.
For a service failure the remedies are the ones the law gives you, and nothing in our terms removes them. The full wording is clause 4 of the terms.
What happens to my documents and my report?
Reports are delivered view-only — there is no file download. Your private link opens the report in 30-minute sessions for 7 days after delivery, and we re-open that window on request afterwards at no charge.
The report text is deleted 30 days after delivery: a scheduled job removes the stored object and then clears the pointer to it. Order metadata is kept; the report text is not. The retention period can never be configured below 8 days, so the deletion job cannot remove a report you are still entitled to read. Details are in the privacy notice.
The company-check form does not ask for your email address, and an order can be placed anonymously. If you do give an email, it is used to run and record the order — not added to a marketing list.
Whose names appear in the report?
Companies are named in full. For individuals there is a tiered default: the legal representative — the one person legally answerable for the company — is named, and other individuals appear with their roles, stakes and dates but with names withheld. That is not a product limitation we chose for convenience; China's cross-border personal-information rules cap how many named individuals may lawfully leave the country each year.
An optional order-level unlock extends naming to list-type person records. If the remaining annual allowance cannot cover your order at fulfilment time, that fee is refunded and the report is delivered with the default tiering — the rest of your order is unaffected.
What if something we published is wrong?
Write to hello@currawongweb.com. How corrections are handled, and how facts, inferences and limitations are kept visibly separate, is set out in the editorial policy.
Person-level records can be incomplete, out of date, or refer to a different person with the same name. Treat an adverse hit as a question to put to the supplier, never as a proven fact about a person.
Which law applies, and who do I contact?
The terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, whose courts and tribunals have non-exclusive jurisdiction. That choice does not reduce a mandatory consumer protection of the country you are based in.
Email hello@currawongweb.com. There is no account system and no login to lose — your order link is the only credential.
Two things we cannot answer yet
The operating entity is not yet published. Company formation is in progress. Until the registration details can be stated accurately, this page does not name a registered company — an unverifiable claim about who we are would be the worst possible thing to put on a page about trust.
Card payment is not yet available. Orders are currently confirmed manually against payment instructions, which means the checkout is slower than a card form and the payment methods are limited. If the instructions shown on your order say a method is pending, that is accurate — do not send funds anywhere else on the strength of an email.
