Free screening toolRuns in your browser
Factory or trading company? Find out in one minute — free.
Enter the supplier’s registered Chinese name and live lookup returns the registration status, credit code, business scope and registered address in a few seconds — or paste the 经营范围 yourself and the reading runs entirely in your browser. Live lookup is rate-limited and depends on a commercial data source, so it can be unavailable; when it is, it says so instead of guessing. This page never queries, proxies or caches the official portal.
- Indicative reading, not a conclusion
- Paste mode never leaves your device
- Live lookup says “unavailable” rather than guessing
CHECK / 01
Paste the registration text. Get the reading.
It answers one question: does this scope read like a factory, or like a middleman? Manufacturing wording counts for, trading-only wording counts against, and the company name and registered address add weaker signals.
| Path | Lines | Where the answer comes from |
|---|---|---|
| This page (free) | — | Your pasted text only. No registry is queried, proxied or cached. |
| Paid check, read automatically | 134 | Licensed platform, source and query date on each line |
| Paid check, read by a person in China | 19 | Lines an automated read cannot retrieve usefully |
Being explicit about what this page is: it reads the text you paste and nothing else — no registry is queried, proxied or cached here. The paid check is where a source is actually read, and even there the split is worth knowing: 134 of 153 lines come back without waiting for a person, 19 do not.
This is the free first pass of a China company check: no account, nothing uploaded, the scope text read in your browser. It is one step of Chinese company verification, not the whole of it — to verify a Chinese company properly you also need the live registration status and the name match across contract, invoice and payee, which is the registry lookup and, where the portal will not answer, a China-side human check. If the supplier came from a marketplace, Alibaba supplier verification badges sit alongside this rather than replace it: what the badges actually establish.
I don’t know what the business scope is, or where to get it
It is one line on the supplier’s business licence — the single-page certificate every registered Chinese company has. You do not need to visit any Chinese website to get it.
The easy way: ask the supplier. Sending you their business licence is a routine request in China trade, not an unusual one — a supplier who will not send it has told you something. Ask for a clear photo or PDF, then find the block labelled 经营范围. It is usually the longest paragraph on the licence: a run-on list of activities separated by semicolons or commas. Copy that whole block into the box below.
Two things worth knowing before you read it. The licence also carries the 18-character code — check its structure here first, it takes seconds and catches transcription errors. And a licence photo shows the licence as it was on the day it was photographed; status can change afterwards, which is why the live status line is a separate question from the scope.
The official way: look it up yourself. Three steps, free, but harder than it sounds:
- Open the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (国家企业信用信息公示系统) yourself. It is Chinese-only, and it may not open at all from outside China — what we measured and what to do instead.
- Search the supplier’s exact registered Chinese name, or its 18-character Unified Social Credit Code.
- On the company page, copy the 经营范围 (business scope) line and paste it here with the registered name.
Only have an English name and no licence? The candidate search above finds the registered Chinese name from it — that name is what both routes need.
- Wording analysis — it cannot see the registry or the factory floor
- Not a verdict on honesty — good traders exist, registered factories can outsource
- Not official evidence — for dated records, request the company check
Sources, privacy, and how to check our work
Two modesPaste mode reads the text inside this page — what you paste is never uploaded. We do keep anonymous daily tallies: that the tool was opened, that it was used, that you started a live lookup and whether it found a record, and — only if you choose to answer the optional sourcing question — a product area and value range. None of them carries your text, the result, the company you looked up, or your IP address, and because they are stored as daily counts there is no way to tie any of them back to a visit. Live lookup sends only the company name to our same-origin server. If the data source is unavailable or you hit the rate limit, the server says so explicitly instead of returning a blank result.
Check our workEvery record we return carries its source label and retrieval date, and nothing here is our opinion. Those records are republished by a licensed Chinese business-information platform and originate from the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (国家企业信用信息公示系统), China Judgements Online (中国裁判文书网) and the China Enforcement Information Disclosure Network (中国执行信息公开网) — we do not query, proxy or cache those official portals ourselves. Confirm anything decision-critical against those systems, or against any independent platform you choose.
Expect small differences: platforms pick up and refresh records on different schedules, so a filing can appear on one before the other, and a platform showing no record is not proof that no official record exists. And if any line in a paid report does not match what you find elsewhere, tell us — we re-check it by hand and either send you a corrected report or refund that line.

REPORT / 02
Build your Supplier Evidence Report.
Theme packs start from $26.55. Delivered typically within minutes of payment confirmation. Pick the checks you want quoted. This page calculates the published menu price locally; sending a request does not charge you or start fulfilment. Any accepted report will identify its available source and query date while keeping inferences separate from registry facts.
Before you pay, lock the identity free. Run the code structure check and the free registry lookup above so the name you order against is the registered one — a report on the wrong entity answers nothing. Only have an English name? Find candidate registered names first.

Start from your situation each scenario pre-selects the relevant checks — adjust anything afterwards

Your first order is refundable — no reason needed. If the first report you pay for leaves you unhappy, for any reason or none, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we refund it in full to the original payment method. Once per buyer, and it is written into the report terms — not just promised on this page. And on time: delivery is guaranteed within 72 hours of payment confirmation — typically minutes — and if we miss that you can cancel the affected lines for a full refund.
Ordering is open. Nothing is charged when you submit — payment instructions follow with your order confirmation, and fulfilment starts only after your payment is confirmed.
The next page reviews your selection and terms. The total is re-calculated on the server, and payment instructions follow with your order confirmation. No payment is taken and fulfilment does not start when you send the request — fulfilment starts only after your payment is confirmed. No registry report can confirm where your order is actually produced — when you need a person to read the official portals or walk the factory floor, that is a separate human-verification tier. Company and payment details are listed openly in the trust centre. How individual names are handled. Every report names companies in full. The supplier’s legal representative — the individual registered to represent the company and execute company affairs under its articles and applicable law — is named in your report wherever a line you ordered returns it from the registry source. Some check lines return only a verdict — a three-element match, for instance, comes back as “matched” without the values it matched — and there the report says so instead of implying a name was read.
Other individuals connected to the supplier (individual shareholders, executives, key personnel, historical officers) appear with their roles, stakes, dates and statuses, with names withheld; in their place the report states whether the data source has the relevant person on record, so you can still verify the supplier without exporting personal data.
This tiering is Currawong’s privacy-by-design product policy: it minimises person-level data by default. Applicable legal obligations depend on the nature, volume, sensitivity and circumstances of a transfer — the tiering is our choice, not a rule imposed on us.
