Buying deskRead before accepting a quote
How your goods arrive, and what to do when they don’t.
From this page on, we are a seller describing our own shipping practice — not the verification service, and we will never verify a supplier for you and then offer to replace them with ourselves. Read this before accepting a quote: the claims process below is evidence-based, and the evidence starts the moment the parcel reaches you, not the moment something feels wrong.
BUYING DESK / SHIPPING
DAP means we carry it to your door — and you import it.
All goods quotes ship DAP (Incoterms 2020) to a named place. That split is the single most misread thing in small-batch importing, so here it is as a table rather than a paragraph.
| Step | Ours | Yours |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase, pre-shipment check, export packing | Yes | — |
| Export clearance from China, international freight, carrier to the named place | Yes | — |
| Import clearance at destination | — | Yes — you are the importer |
| Duties, taxes, licences, destination compliance | — | Yes — quantified by your customs authority, not by us |
| Receiving, unloading, inspection on arrival | — | Yes — with photos, see below |
If you cannot or do not want to act as importer, say so in the brief — that is a decline-or-requote conversation before money moves, not a surprise at the border. We do not promise DDP, do not prepay foreign duties, and do not guarantee clearance anywhere.
Tracking, and the dates on your quote
Every shipment travels with a carrier that publishes online tracking; the tracking number is written to your order record when the parcel is handed over, and where the payment provider supports it, to the payment record as well. Above the carrier’s signature threshold we book signature-on-delivery.
The dates on a quote are honest estimates assembled from supplier lead time, checking, freight booking and typical customs dwell — they are estimates, not commitments to a date, and a customs inspection at either end can add days that belong to no one’s promise. What we owe you when that happens is the true status, promptly: a delayed shipment is reported as delayed, not narrated around.
The ten minutes that decide a claim: arrival
Before you unpack anything: photograph the unopened parcels showing the shipping labels, then the opened carton from above, then anything damaged exactly as found, still in its packaging. Count against the quote quantity before discarding any packaging.
Why we ask: transit-damage claims live or die on whether the damage can be placed in transit — goods photographed loose on a workbench prove condition, not cause. The same photos protect you with the carrier and with us simultaneously.
Claims: windows, evidence, outcomes
| Claim | Window | Evidence that decides it |
|---|---|---|
| Shortage (fewer units than the quote) | 5 business days from delivery | Label photos, carton photos, your count against the quote quantity |
| Transit damage | 5 business days from delivery | Damage photographed as found, in packaging, plus outer-carton and label photos |
| Not matching the accepted specification | 14 days from delivery | Photos or measurements against the specification lines on the accepted quote version |
| Non-delivery | When tracking stalls or contradicts itself | We chase the carrier with the tracking record; you confirm nothing arrived |
Outcomes follow the trade terms: replacement, partial or full refund to the original payment path only — never to a different account, and any message inviting you to accept a refund to a new account is not from us. What a claim cannot do: reprice a delivered order because the market moved, or turn a visual-check promise into a hidden-defect warranty — the checking scope your quote named is the checking you bought.
Claims are decided on evidence, not on volume of correspondence. One clear email with the photos beats ten without them — and the desk answering you is the same person who released your shipment, not a queue.
